Chrome vanadium, satin finish & materials — what Teng tools are made of

The steels and finishes used across Teng Tools and how to care for them.

Most Teng Tools hand tools are forged from chrome vanadium (CrV) steel — an alloy chosen for strength and durability — with a satin finish.

Why satin instead of polished chrome?

A satin finish resists slipping in oily hands and holds up better to daily workshop use than mirror-polished chrome.

Standards

Teng tools are designed and manufactured to meet or exceed ISO and DIN international standards — each product's spec article lists the standards that apply (for example DIN 3113A for combination wrenches, ISO 6789 for torque wrenches).

Care

Wipe tools down after use and keep them dry. Torque wrenches should be cleaned and calibrated yearly — servicing and recalibration are available on request.
